Projeto ERASMUS+ KA2

“Let’s science our environment”

ERASMUS+ KA2 - Parcerias Estratégicas

On May 6th I had my first Erasmus meeting and it was a mix of feelings, I was so excited to finally see the other teenagers that make part of this project, but at the same time I was really nervous because although the teachers gave us a timetable with all the planned activities we were going to do that day, I didn’t know exactly how that was going to work out.

Unfortunately, due to the pandemic, we can’t travel to other countries so we had to do it online. The meeting started at 9:00 a.m. in Portugal. When I joined there were already a lot of people there and it was such a huge impact because I didn’t know we were so many people. When everyone was already at the meeting the teachers started talking and then each country presented a PowerPoint to show us their schools. I have to admit, when they started to show the schools, I was shocked because their schools seem to be so fancy and pretty and really different from mine. After the Danish teens presented their school, Mara asked them how their school year is divided and what time they start and finish the lessons. Around 10:00 a.m. we did a quiz with environmental questions and although I didn’t get all the questions right, it was pretty interesting once I could learn new things. When we finished it, they gave us the right answers for us to see what we got wrong. Then the German teacher, Annette, talked to us a little bit about the project and the other teachers talked about the environment. At 11:00 a.m. we had a short break and then fifteen minutes later we joined different groups to work on different topics. This part was a bit confusing as we didn’t fully understand how the results were supposed to be disseminated. As at that time we didn’t have the results to post, we just discussed the different possibilities of posting them.

Afterwards, we got together again in the same virtual room, we summarised what we had done in each group and said goodbye. Our colleague Hugo said it in German.

That was my first Erasmus meeting and despite being online, I loved it. I met a lot of new people and made new friends. I can’t wait to see them again.
